On October 17, 2012, the Department of Health, Kaohsiung City Government, decided to grant most of the archives and medical instruments of Taiwan Medical Museum to Kaohsiung Medical University to establish a new exhibition place. The president of the university, Professor Ching-Kuan Liu, accepted the decision and promised to establish a place on campus which is open to all faculty, students and the citizens to advocate medical humanity.
The Museum of Kaohsiung Medical University History & Medical Humanity consists of the existing Museum of Kaohsiung Medical University and newly established Museum of Medical Humanity. The museum aims to collect and exhibit the related archives and medical instruments, and provide the faculty and students of the university and the citizens an educational venue. Visitors of the museum would realize the growth of the university and the medical development of Taiwan.
