In 1865, Dr. James Maxwell landed in Cijin, bringing the dawn of modern medicine to Taiwan. Subsequently, the established David Manson Memorial Hospital became the island’s first medical school. In 1954, Kaohsiung Medical University was founded, continuing the mission of human-centered medical education. From Cijin to KMU, this journey is not just a passage through time but a legacy of compassion in medicine!
